Make your masterpiece.

Creativity, Productivity, and Voice Coaching for Singers and Creatives

Ever feel like one of these creatives?

Hey there. I’m Jess.

And I get it.

I’ve been every single one of those creatives at some point in my life.

After completing two degrees that didn’t really teach me how to find my own style or manage my own projects (most music degrees don’t), I had to go on my own journey to figure it out while also learning how to honor my nervous system and neurotype.

I finally found my voice and my creative flow, and I’ve used the best of what I learned to help artists all over the world.

You can make your own masterpiece!

What makes True Colors unique?

  • Being an authentic artist doesn’t mean finding the “one true you.” You’re way more interesting than that. As Whitman says, “Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)”

Being authentic also doesn’t mean sharing things that you’d rather not share. You owe no one your story. Consent isn’t just about sex.

Being authentic means welcoming all parts of yourself, including the ones you’ve been taught to camouflage, and letting them express themselves through your creations. Then you can decide for yourself if, when, and how you want to share. Doing that will read as more authentic in whatever art you decide to show people.

I use the Internal Family Systems framework to help you understand your artist identity, style, and voice.

  • As an AuDHD person with CPTSD, I know personally that getting sh*t done is a lot more complicated than finding the right planner or app. So I bring a neurodivergent and trauma-informed approach to my executive function tools for clients.

I know that guilting and shaming and scaring ourselves to the finish line might work sometimes, (been there), but the emotional cost is never worth it. There are kinder, more loving ways to help our inner artists finish projects.

A week where you don’t get anything done is merely a tool to learn your patterns and show compassion to yourself, and I’m here to help you honor that.

  • Your inner child-artist needs freedom and play to create, but like any kid, also needs loving structure and a bird’s eye view from a parent figure.

If our inner managers hijack creative playtime, our creations are stale, lifeless, constricted, fearful.

If our inner artists hijack management time, our creations can’t get finished and onto the stage.

So you’ll learn to step into your artist and manager parts more fully *and* more separately.

Project management is a skill of its own that can be learned, and it’s what helps your creations get from your dreams into reality. I’ve taken multiple courses in project management, and I love curating tools and best practices for each individual’s needs.
